“Dreams of Mustamäe”: book presentation and discussion evening

On March 27th at 5:00 PM, there will be a meeting with Annel Jalava at the Kännukuke library.

The event will introduce the book “Dreams of Mustamäe: Stories and Tastes”, published at the end of last year. The event will talk about the history of Mustamäe, its development, and the stories of its residents.

Special attention is also paid to the story of Anneli Jalava’s family in Mustamäe, which dates back to the second half of 1968, when the family moved from a wood heating apartment in Kalamaja to a brand new apartment on Sõpruse Puiestee. The father’s interest in photography, which began in the late sixties, plays a significant role. Thanks to the color slides, characteristic and colorful childhood memories of the era have been preserved, which help to open up the everyday life of Mustamäe at that time.

The meeting will be held in collaboration with the Tallinn Museum of People.
